JSC Antipinsky Oil Refinery has published its annual environmental compliance report, confirming full adherence to all applicable federal and regional environmental regulations for the eighth consecutive year. The report details the company's environmental performance metrics, emission levels, and ongoing sustainability initiatives.
Key highlights from the 2023 environmental report include a 12% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity compared to the previous year, achieved through improved energy efficiency measures and the optimization of flare gas recovery systems. The refinery's closed-loop water treatment system continued to operate at 100% efficiency, with zero harmful discharge into surrounding waterways.
Air quality monitoring stations positioned around the refinery perimeter recorded emission levels consistently below permissible limits established by Russian federal environmental standards. Sulfur dioxide emissions were reduced by 18% through upgrades to the Claus sulfur recovery unit, which now achieves a recovery rate exceeding 99.5%.
The report also highlighted the company's waste management program, which achieved a 95% waste recovery and recycling rate. Solid waste from refining operations is processed through specialized treatment facilities, with recoverable materials returned to the production cycle wherever possible.
"Environmental stewardship is not just a regulatory requirement — it is a core value that guides every aspect of our operations," stated the Environmental Director. "We are proud that our continuous investments in clean technology have resulted in measurable improvements year over year."
The refinery has committed to further environmental improvements in 2024, including the installation of a new biological wastewater treatment system and the expansion of its continuous emissions monitoring network.
